CUPAC donates to local legislators who support credit union

posted October 3, 2016 in Press Releases

Greater Iowa President/CEO Scott Zahnle represents the credit union in the Iowa Credit Union League’s Credit Union Political Action Committee (CUPAC). He recently presented donations to three local state representatives for their support of Iowa’s credit unions including Representative Lisa Heddens (Iowa House District 46), Beth Wessel-Kroeschell (Iowa House District 45) and Rob Bacon (Iowa House District 48).

Wessel-Kroeschell represents the south and eastern parts of Ames and Story County. As a supporter of the credit union message, she says they play an important role in providing financial services to Iowans. “I like how credit unions are for the average Iowan,” she said. “Credit unions give them access to financial services that might not be available to them otherwise.”

CUPAC is a bi-partisan political action group that supports state legislative candidates who support credit union. It is funded through sales of Adventureland tickets (discounted tickets are sold at participating credit unions) and the Hack for CUPAC Annual Golf Outing.
