Puppies get the royal treatment

This year, each Greater Iowa staff member was granted 8 hours to volunteer at or for an organization of their choice. Melissa W, her daughter Makayla and Lisa H recently used their hours at AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport in DeSoto.
"Our most important job was to help wake up a litter of puppies that had just come out of surgery," Melissa said.
They also helped roll newspapers for foster families, placed tags on collars and other odd jobs that were needed.

The animals at AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport quickly made friends with the volunteers.
